"Choose Your Real Estate Agent Carefully"
A home purchase is the largest purchase in your life. You should
not have to guess if your agent his your "best interests" in mind!
Unfortunately, most people
"think"
the agent they are working with is working on
their side.
Unless your agent is working
as an Exclusive Buyer's Agent, your agent is working
on the Seller's side, or for both the Seller and you at the same time
(i.e., "Dual Agency"). Ask yourself: Can your agent really get the highest
price for the Seller and the lowest price for you at the same
time?
Realistically, as a Home Buyer, your real estate agent should
only represent you EXCLUSIVELY with no "conflict of interest".
"Key
things to understand before you start looking at homes."

Visiting Open
Houses or
Builder's Models by Yourself?
If you like what you
see, you
are required to buy with the person
who showed you that
OPEN HOUSE
or
MODEL.
The problem - they work
for the SELLER or the BUILDER. They do do not work for you,
like we always do.
Plus,
that nice person sitting at the
OPEN HOUSE
who becomes your agent by default (for that house) is probably only a
part-time real estate agent
who has another day job.
Bottom Line
You may get:
- an agent
who works for the Seller
and not for you.
and
-
an agent
who might not
be experienced
in real estate.

An agent either works for you
or works for someone else..."
"Your goal should be to engage an agent
who will represent only your interests. Not just a 'buyer broker'
but an Exclusive Buyer Broker. Make sure that is what you are
getting..."
